Laminating
A process of applying a thin layer of molten plastic between two substrates in order for the plastic to act as an adhesive layer. The substrates can be any combination of paper, plastic film, paperboard, corrugated fiberboard, aluminum foil, fabric, and others. The plastic is melted in a typical extrusion process then forced through a wide, flat die. A thin web of molten plastic is then applied to the substrate on a chilled roller.
