Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) are elastomers that consist of hard, crystalline segments and soft, amorphous segments that are created from diisocyanates and long chain diols. TPUs are noted for their excellent abrasion and wear resistance, low temperature flexibility, superior toughness, biocompatibility, clarity and ease of processing. TPUs are processed by all standard processing methods. Key applications of TPU include film, hose and tube, wire and cable, athletic footwear, fibers, winter sports, seals and gaskets, protective film, diaphragms, packaging, adhesives, protective apparel, and performance apparel.
