EMS-Grivory HT Series
Grivory® is the trade name for the EMS-GRIVORY family of semi-crystalline, partially aromatic polyamides. Grivory® HT products are aromatic, semi-crystalline, high-performance polymers based on a polyphthalamide (PPA) structure. Characteristics of these products include:
- Stiffness and strength at high operating temperatures
- Resistance to chemicals and hot water
- Minimal effect of moisture on mechanical properties
- Dimensional stability and low warpage
- Low water absorption
- Excellent surface quality
- Economical manufacturing
Grivory® HT includes several different base polymer types:
- Grivory HT1: PA6T/6I
- Grivory HT2: PA6T/66
- Grivory HT6: PA6T/8T/X
Grivory® HT technical components exhibit dimensional stability at high application temperatures. Grivory® HT outperforms other high temperature polymers like polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyether ether ketone (PEEK) in stiffness and strength at application temperatures up to 120°C. Grivory® HT6, the newest member, raises operating temperature performance to 140°C. Property enhancements result from strategic combinations of the basic polymers, reinforcing materials (glass fiber, carbon fiber, minerals), and additives (stabilizers, processing aids).
