Soldering, Lead Free

Early solders used lead alloys, but because of health and environmental concerns, solder compounds have done away with lead and instead use alloys of tin, copper, silver, nickel and zinc. The most common lead free solder is a tin-copper alloy with a melting point of 217°C.
