Crastin®

Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) is an engineering thermoplastic polyester used in automotive, medical, consumer, electrical and electronics industries. This semi-crystalline polyester has a very high dimensional stability and is quite hard and rigid in nature.

The wide range of PBT products with different performance profiles available in the marketplace is a tribute to the versatility of this material.

What is Thermoplastic Polyester (PBT)?

Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) is a very strong Engineering Thermoplastic Polymer (ETP) with very high heat and good creep resistance. Its semi-crystalline structure and chemical composition provides resistance to a huge range of chemicals, oils and greases. PBT has good electrical properties, is resistant to weathering and can be made flame retardant.

Polybutylene Terephthalate is available in multiple families of numerous grades with different key properties. These engineering polyester products are used in auto interior and exterior, small and large appliances, power tools, electrical and electronic, food handling, filtration, cosmetics, personal care, medical & pharmaceutical applications.
